Simina Angelescu - Psychologist and Psychotherapist

Psychologist and psychotherapist, trained in Experiential Psychotherapy of Unification and Classical Psychodrama, Certified Prenatal Educator, Lamaze International (LCCE), specialized in Neurodramatic Play (dr. Sue Jennings, UK) and Clinical Maternology (France)

I have started my professional career in the Human Performance Psychology (Research and Psychology Support in Performance Sports) and child/adolescent psychotherapy. I had the chance of meeting extraordinary people and assisting them in their personal development process. I was fascinated by the children’s ability to coping with adverse life challenges and by their wealth of personal resources, and have always tried to understand the path of human becoming. This was the source of my interest for prenatal psychology, birthing and child-parent relationship.

Starting with 2009 I have focused my attention and developed my professional experience on Perinatal Psychology, by extending my professional activity with psychological counseling for expecting mothers, psychotherapy for women in postnatal difficulties, and for their families. As a prenatal educator I was involved in preparing the future parents for the pregnancy, a healthy birthing, and for the newborn welcoming experience by offering Lamaze prenatal education and natural parenting, as well as organizing groups for prenatal attachment development.

I specialized in Clinical Maternology, in France (mother-newborn relationship science, focusing on maternal difficulties therapy) for setting the grounds, in Romania, for prevention programs and specific psychotherapy addressed to mothers with post-partum difficulties and their children during their first year of life.

I became familiarized with Psychogenealogy during my postgraduate studies – Psychotherapist Mater studies, and further explored it during the group studies lead by Cristina Schmidt. This profound and systemic perspective of human development and of family relationships helped me understanding the story and the deep wounds of the clients I had accompanied in their healing journey. I have used genosociogram in prenatal consultations, assisting the future parents in understanding their child legacy, in postpartum disorders therapy, and in parents’ and children’s with difficult relationships and development difficulties.

Transgenerational therapy has become an intrinsic part in all psychological assistance process I offer and my attention is focused on understanding the family legacies that may impede the maternal manifestation and assuming the maternal role.
